On March 8th, in celebration of International Women’s Day, we at AstaZero and our industrial partner Scania Sverige had the privilege of jointly hosting a special event. We welcomed 16 female customers to our test environment, situated just outside Borås, for a day of exploration and empowerment.
Håkan Andersson, Proving Ground Manager, introduced AstaZero, a test environment for testing advanced safety and automated transport systems, covering various traffic scenarios. He emphasized our commitment to driving positive change in the transportation industry. Catharina Qvist, Sustainability Manager at Scania Sverige, delivered an engaging presentation on electrification and sustainability initiatives, sharing invaluable insights.
“It’s always a pleasure to meet customers! And in this male-dominated industry, it made me particularly happy to spend a day with only women. They had a thorough understanding of the challenges of transforming the transport industry, and I enjoyed hearing concrete examples from their reality in the haulier world,” says Catharina.
The highlight of the day?
All participants had the incredible opportunity to take the wheel and experience driving various Scania trucks. Under the guidance of Scania’s demo drivers, everyone got to try precision driving between cones on the track we call FLX Zone. Additionally, they all got to drive the three heavier trucks weighing up to 64 tons, two with trailers, on our rural road.
We are dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and it was a momentous day for us at AstaZero to demonstrate our support and continue our efforts in paving the way towards a brighter, more equitable future.
